Although teaching is one of the most challenging professions it is also one of the most rewarding.  Classroom teachers have the opportunity to impact the lives of their students like no one else.  Here are just some of the things I love about teaching: -watching the "light bulb" come on for the first time, when a student understands new material -seeing students use their knowledge outside of the classroom -helping students become more comfortable with what they know and who they are -listening as students share about themselves -being available for students to ask questions -thoughtfully answering questions -helping student work through moral and ethical dilemnas -assisting students as they endeavor to do something they have never done -encouraging students to achieve their personal best -guiding students towards their natural talents -getting students excited about what is to come -introducing students to new information -building confidence And this is just what one teacher can do in one day with one student.
