Have you ever noticed how contagious enthusiasm is?  It spreads faster than the flu.  And the side effects?  Increased productivity.  Increased creativity.  Increased personal investment.  As an employer, an appropriate display of enthusiasm is necessary to motivate employees to reach their full potential.  Have you ever noticed how contagious negativity is?  It, too, spreads faster than the flu, but is no where near as easy to get over.  And the side effects?  Decreased productivity.  Poor attitudes.  Decreased creativity.  Apathy.  Indifference.  As an employer, just a drop of negativity will sour the whole office.  People in leadership positions must guard against negative attitudes because once the negativity begins to spread it is nearly impossible to turn it around. Enthusiam in the office is essential for leaders, superiors, and employers, but it is just as important for employees.  An employee would do well to remember the positive benefits of being employed rather than focusing on the negative issues.  Employees who are enthusiastic about their jobs are more likely to experience success, promotion, and satisfaction.
