Q. How does the TrainingForce system compare to Learning Management Systems? A.The term “Learning Management System” or “LMS” has become a catchall phrase to define systems that focus more on the management of content development, delivery of education and knowledge transfer. TrainingForce does not provide authoring tools and but rather is designed as a business management system, focused on efficient management, accurate accounting and performance measures of training. Q. Am I able to access my database directly? A. When using TrainingForce.com, we do not allow direct access to databases for security reasons. We can send you the latest backup version of your data on CD. If you purchase TrainingForce for installation at your organization, then you have access to your database. Back To Top

Q. What type of Internet connection is necessary to use TrainingForce.com? A. Ideal connection speed for top performance is 128k ISDN or better, but the system is still very functional at 56k. Back To Top

Q. How do I know when a student has registered online? A. As soon as a registration arrives via the Internet, the administrator receives an email alert and/or this is added to the task list, which is seen as soon as the user logs in. Back To Top
Q. Can I set maximum and minimum enrollments for classes? A. Yes. Classes that have not met minimums appear on “view by shortages” course schedule. Back To Top

Q. Can I set multiple levels of permissions for my employees? A. Yes. Permissions are based on roles. You can create multiple roles with a variety of permission levels. Each user is then assigned a role when their account is created. Back To Top

Q. Can I assign more than one instructor to teach a class? A. Yes. TrainingForce allows for “team teaching”. You can assign primary instructor, secondary...and so on. Back To Top
Q. Is TrainingForce scalable? A. Yes. TrainingForce is a web application designed specifically to accommodate many users and thousands of students. The software requires Microsoft Windows 2000 Server with COM support. Back To Top
Q. Can I accept payments from customers online? A. Yes. If you already have a merchant account that allows you to process Internet purchases, we can set you up in a few days. If you do not, we will assist you with finding a processor that will provide you this ability. Back To Top

Q. Can I post private and public classes and/or prices online? A. Yes. TrainingForce identifies the user when he or she logs into the system to register. If they belong to a private group they are then able to see classes or prices that are specific to that group. Back To Top
Q. How long has TrainingForce been around? A. Oak Tree Systems introduced its first Training Management System in 1994. The product was called Boomerang™. In 1998, Boomerang was rewritten for the web and renamed NetBoomerang™. The ASP version of NetBoomerang, which is now TrainingForce.com, was launched in January 2000.
